Things to Know

Treatments

Balanced Energy Wellness offers Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Nutrition Consulting. These forms of Oriental Medicine have been practiced in East Asia for thousands of years and have spread across the world today. By tailoring each treatment and therapy for you, we are able to be very specific with our treatments and typically see excellent results. In each treatment, I will treat your symptoms, as well as the root of your problem. Depending on your individual case, I may choose to use herbal medicines, different needling styles, heat therapy, cupping, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations and more.  Learn more about Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Nutrition.

Paperwork

When you schedule your first appointment, we’ll send you the New Patient Intake forms to complete.  So that we can make the most of our time together, please complete all forms prior to arriving for your appointment.  If you aren’t able to complete it before your appointment, plan to arrive about 20-30 minutes early so that you can complete it prior to meeting with Rawls.   While it seems like a lot of questions, they all are important to understand your overall health status and to develop an effective treatment plan.

Consultation & First Treatment

During your initial consultation which will last about 15- 30 minutes, I will discuss your current health complaints and will answer any questions you might have.  I want to make sure that you are a good fit for Oriental Medicine and that we both feel confident that you will respond favorably. Your expectations of the treatment process are important to discuss so that you understand how I treat your condition most effectively and are in control of your health and wellness.  If you are ready, I will schedule your first treatment at that time. During your first treatment, I will review your health history, and will perform diagnostics such as taking your pulse, looking at your tongue and feeling your abdomen.  Each of these diagnostic methods tell me more about your condition.  From there I will determine a diagnosis and treatment strategy, and will perform an acupuncture treatment aimed at resolving symptoms and the underlying causes.

Treatment Preparation

Wear something comfortable that is easy to get on and off.  Many commonly used acupuncture points are located on the lower arms and legs, so it is helpful to wear clothing that allows easy access to these areas.  We can also provide you with a kimono that allows easy access to your back, stomach and upper chest area.  You should eat something light before your treatment.

Insurance

Some insurance plans now offer coverage for Acupuncture. You will want to check with your Insurer to see if you have coverage.  Review the information here to learn more about the questions to ask about your insurance coverage for Acupuncture and how we work with your insurance.  If you are covered, please go here and input your insurance information so that we can get the details from your insurance company to file the claims. Then once your insurance has been confirmed, we will take care of submitting the claim for you.

For Veterans,  the VA offers treatment through the Veterans Choice Program.

You may also choose to use your HSA or FSA cards to pay for your care.

Childcare

If you bring children with you to the office, please bring a separate care provider to care for them while we treat you. This allows everyone to focus – you on your treatment and our staff on providing excellent care. If your child has a medical issue, we are happy to see them as a patient. We do require that an adult be present with a minor during a treatment.

Cancellation Policy

Missed appointments without prior notification are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the treatment charge.  We ask for 24 hour notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment.   Changes can be made online, by calling the clinic, by email or text.

If you have any questions, please let me know by email at clinic@bewellptc.com or by calling me at 678-871-9642.  I look forward to seeing you soon.
