Specializations
Pain – Acute Injuries and Chronic Pain
Acupuncture is most well-known for treating pain, and I have extensive training in treating pain of all kinds. Whether it’s a recent injury or surgery, migraines, or long standing chronic pain, I have several methods to get you some relief. Depending on the type of pain and the underlying cause, sometimes I’ll couple this with herbal medicine for better effectiveness.
Athletes (and others) looking to improve muscle function or release trigger points will benefit from my Osteo/Neurofunctional acupuncture and Dry Needling techniques. Neurofunctional Acupuncture evaluates how the nervous system interacts with the soft tissue and joint mechanics, and works to improve muscle motor function, restore soft-tissue integrity and decrease pain signals from injured areas.
SAAT – Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment
I’ve trained with the doctor who founded this treatment approach for allergies. It is quite effective for any type of allergy, and typically only requires one treatment rather than many allergy shots. I use this treatment approach with my patients who have contracted Alpha Gal, an allergy to mammal meats resulting from a tick bite. Read more here….
Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue
Autoimmune conditions seem to be on the rise. My approach to these conditions is a multi-stage treatment approach that incorporates acupuncture and herbal medicines. I incorporate diet and lifestyle recommendations as well. Learn more about my FibroFatigue program.
Lyme Disease and other Tick-related illness
Lyme Disease frequently attacks the nervous system and/or the digestive system causing things like Bells Palsy, pain, arthritis-like symptoms or digestive issues. The parasites associated with these diseases are tough to crack. I use herbal and homeopathic medicines, alternating them so that the parasites don’t become resistant. This treatment requires persistence and dedication to effectively rid the body of these parasites and alleviate the health issues they cause.
Fertility/Menstrual Irregularities
The acupuncture school I attended specialized in this area, and I’ve done some additional training since then to help women regulate cycles and increase their chances of conceiving. Acupuncture has been shown to improve results with IUI and IVF.
For Health Professionals
Western and Eastern medicine both offer unique perspectives fundamental to healthcare today. Many prestigious medical centers including Mayo Clinic, University of California San Francisco, and Duke University Medical Center currently offer Chinese Medicine and other complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) treatments to their patients.
Most of my best patients were referrals from another healthcare provider. We find the collaboration with other healthcare professionals can offer the best care for the patient.
